Stevie singing at Luther Vandross funeral.
Thank you Elton for all the beautiful talent ❤️
Yep
Never seen this until today and lmao about the cold fries, etc. One of my fav songs ever!
Nigel Olson’s ass is 🔥.
Simply amazing, a friend being a friend that also has a legendary status voice 🤍💜💔
❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of the my favorites songs!
slow down Joe, I am still rockin with Elton
03:39 his voice is breaking up.... he's fighting the tears back so hard Stevie Wonder singing is like a 21 Gun Salute for musicians
Bernie Taupin wrote most of his songs!
No. He wrote the lyrics. Elton wrote the music and turned the lyrics into songs. They are 50/50 songwriting partners. Bernie writes the words and Elton creates the melody and the music.
His singing and piano playing makes me so HAPPY I can't believe how good this song is. His talent is a gift from God. ❤
his singing back then was incredible and his piano playing is amazing.
Agree. I loved though how he soldiered on and still made great records after blowing out his voice @1980 or so. What a trooper. Read about how he performed a week or two after prostrate surgery and had to wear a diaper. Elton at any age gave 100%. Even his goodbye tour when he could hardly stand up and walk got everything he had to offer. More please.
Peter... 😉 "Февраль. Достать чернил и плакать Писать о феврале навзрыд Пока грохочущая слякоть Весною черною горит Февраль. The only person whose voice not only set the tone for R&B after him, but has never gotten wack in age. In fact, he sounds better.
I think the drummer needs more toms, 7 isn't enough...
..
He was at Michael Jackson's funeral to
Beautiful! Always come back to this classic.❤❤
Luther’s voice was for JESUS, not the world. Still glad we had him. RIP.
Epic drum kit.
WOW Young young Elton had voice for the intensity of his poetry and music. Sir Elton put the Great in British music.
Correction: Bernie's poetry.
@@lemurianchick Yes they share in the greatness. Thank you.
I (uh) must go on standing You can't break that which isn't yours I (uh) must go on standing I'm not my own, it's not my choice Be afraid of the lame, they'll inherit your legs Be afraid of the old, they'll inherit your souls Be afraid of the cold, they'll inherit your blood Apres moi le deluge, after me comes the flood I (uh) must go on standing You can't break that which isn't yours I (uh) must go on standing I'm not my own, it's not my choice
What’s the name of the song pls
I won’t complain
Great version with the extra verse. He was 24? at the time. My cousin gave me the Rocket man single and this was side B.
I prefer this song with piano only
The Goat
How About Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow with Shame in 2010 Great!
I was seventeen when this came out. they told us this music was pop and transitory. I beg to differ fifty years on.
So much respect for Elton’s music 🎵
Truly ELTON 'S A EXTREMELY TALENTED COMPOSER, VOCALIST, PIANIST-------BEATLES lasted what-----12 years?? Elton still composing 50 years later----- it's like MOZART has risen from the dead only this e time he brought a singing voice with perfect pitch......how blessed we are
Even what we would now label a throwaway song like "Holiday Inn" is pretty darn good.
This is by no means a throwaway song. You think so because of the title but the melody is sophisticated and beautiful. Fail sauce. 👎
@@lemurianchick Sorry to have offended you. Perhaps "middling" would be a better term. If we ranked the songs on "Madman", it would be in the bottom half, in my opinion.
This is a terrific pop song and should have been released as a single. …it’s catchy as h#ll.
@2:53 STAND UP!!!!!!
Every one of these performers can likely so relate to this song and its experiences that they can't help but put their all into their performances. And I shows. I like the change up in the lyrics also. Wonder if was sanctioned by Bernie. ✌
His albums before Yellow Brick Road were great, afterwards they were good.
Not since the Beatles has there been such a prolific writing duo like like Elton and Bernie. Thank you for giving us such incredible music to listen to.
I love the verse about the French fries being cold too bad that verse didn't make the album version.
King Wonder: (Soundtrack of ALL of America): I won't complain. I won't complain. Sometimes my clouds hang low.... Lord, why so much pain? But God knows what's best for me. God has been so good to me...
When I stay at Holiday inns I always think of ELTON
Bernie is a master songwriter
Nigel, always looked so awkward, but jeez what an amazingly creative, and accurate player!
A friend of mine and I in 1972-73 used to charter buses to take university students from New Brunswick to New England. Although we never got to book an Elton John concert at that time, this song was part of our soundtrack played through a mono portable cassette player. Once we were within Mass for a while, the Madman album was our anthem. We got to see Jethro Tull, the Winters, Doobie Brothers and so many more, but Madman was our travelling soundtrack.
Not being disrespectful but this feels like a parody to me. Elton and Taupin were so good they could write about a holiday inn and you be wanting to cry your eyes out 😂
Tumbleweed Connection is right up there as well.
He was the best artist, but he needed his ghost writer. To be supreme, and save time for cola lol. Love Elton
Wow!! Sorry, but I’m barely catching up on the Elton John…..!! Lol I never knew he was such a BRILLIANT ARTIST SINGER PERFORMER!
Timeless
